Science Fair
Students should have (and keep) the following documents in their planner binder. Please use the links to reprint them, if you need to.
2019 Science Fair Due Dates
Manatee Elementary 5th Grade Science Fair Guide
Question & Title Proposal Form (must be approved by your teacher before you start experimenting)
The fair will be held on November 14, but, as in previous years, the projects are due in stages spread out over the next several weeks.
Projects should be of adequate challenge and significant interest to a fifth grade student. We will not approve projects pertaining to the following topics:
- eggs floating in liquid
- cleaning pennies
- counting popcorn
- liquid capacity of paper towels or gummy candies
ALL PROJECTS MUST BE TESTABLE EXPERIMENTS
IN WHICH QUANTITATIVE DATA (numbers) CAN BE MEASURED AND COLLECTED
As students are considering project ideas, be sure they are thinking about how they will test their question and gather data accurately.

If you attended Science Camp this past summer, please turn in your entire binder on the first due date this year. Keep your board at home until the boards are due.
